Care is required when attaching the feed and return pipes. The design used on this type of unit is a push-in type fitting, these are held in place by a plate and retaining bolt. This bolt must not be over tightened during installation. When the bolt is fully secured, the pipes can still be moved, this is normal for this design of fitting.

The pipes seal in the steering rack housing on an O ring that is fitted to the end of the pipe. We recommend that the O rings are replaced each time the pipes are removed.

If the O rings are damaged it is likely the pipes will leak. Tightening the retaining bolt will not stop this leak, only replacement of the O ring will achieve this. Over tightening of the retaining bolt in an attempt to stop a leak caused by damaged O rings, will result in the retaining bolt thread being stripped.

Damage to the retaining bolt thread caused by over tightening will invalidate the warranty.
