When trying to identify the correct Steering Rack for the Transit 2012on you need to know the No of Turns – Lock to Lock.

What exactly is meant and how do you determine the correct part number

Lock to Lock refers to the Steering Wheel being turned fully to the Left and then fully to the right.

Step 1: Position front wheels dead straight.

Step 2 Mark steering wheel at 12 o’clock.

Step 3 Starting from the centred position, turn to Full Lock left.

Step 4 Now turn to Full Lock right, counting the number of revolutions as you go. Important: Number or Turns ranges from 3.1 to 3.8 so it is recommended to repeat the process a few times to determine the correct number.
