76 new driveshafts join Shaftec’s New To Range
Shaftec has added 76 new driveshafts to its New To Range collection for February.
Shaftec is delighted to unveil a new product for its range – the Axle Shaft. Also known as Half Shafts, they are used to transmit power from the transmission into the wheels.
Being such a critical piece, we only wonder why we didn’t stock it sooner! After demand from our customers, we’re delighted to be adding Axle Shafts to our range, and will continue to add different applications, depending on the demand we see for them.

Axle Shafts allow the transmission to transfer motion to the vehicle’s wheels. They are sometimes known as Half Shafts, and you have two per axle (so four for 4wd) and each one transmits an equal amount of power from the transaxle to the wheels.
The inner end of the shaft is supported and driven by the differential while the outer end is supported in bearings between the shaft and axle housing. The bearings have either built-in or separate oil seals and can be either: ball bearings, taper roller bearings (both with inner races), or straight roller bearings which use the axle shaft as the inner race.

Having been providing aftermarket automotive parts since 1983, it’s remarkable we didn’t start providing Axle Shafts sooner! But after customers told us they were struggling to source Axle Shafts, we knew it should be the newest product to add to our expanding lineup. After adding Propshafts to our range last year, we’re delighted to continue the expansion as Shaftec becomes increasingly well known and relied on by customers up and down the country.
Shaftec Marketing Manager Adrian Kitchen had this to say about the launch of Axle Shafts:
“The launch of a new axle shaft programme is exciting news for our customers and partners. This new range of axle shafts is once again as the direct result of customer feedback, which indicated a gap in the market for a programme offering the quality, range and pricing for which we are known.”
Adrian Kitchen, Marketing Manager
At launch the programme will comprise five parts, catering for applications from 2007 to date and include references to fit: Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter and Nissan Navarra. Shaftec hopes to see strong interest in this product range and we hope to expand the programme in due course, based on market demand.
As with all its safety critical parts, Shaftec goes above and beyond to ensure material quality and strength, and all are tested to the extreme in line with strict industry guidelines. With next day delivery available, the programme is backed by the highest levels of availability & customer service, marketing & technical support. Our Axle Shafts all come with a 24 month/24,000-mile warranty, maintaining our commitment to exceptional warranties and highlighting our faith in the quality of our products.
