It is important that the following steps are observed in order to guarantee the performance of the replacement PAS Pump:

1. Prior to installation, determine the cause of failure and repair as necessary. Failure to do so, may lead to premature failure of the new pump.
2. Compare the replacement pump with that removed to ensure fixings, connections and pulleys all match.
3. Disconnect the hoses and ensure they are blanked off. Also inspect the condition of the hoses and the relevant O-rings should they be damaged or perished please replace them.
4. Remove the PAS Pump.
5. On some applications the original PAS Pump Pulley will have to be transferred to the new PAS Pump.
6. To ensure that the PAS system is free of any debris that may have caused the original failure, you must now drain and flush the system with 5-6 litres of PAS fluid. It’s imperative to use the Vehicle Manufacturers’ recommendations here.
7. Install the new PAS Pump and Drive Belt and adjust according to the Vehicle Manufacturers’ settings.
8. Re-install the hoses.
9. Fill the PAS system with the recommended Vehicle Manufacturers’ fluid. Bleed the system.
10. Recheck the fluid level and top up if required.
11. Road test the vehicle, on completion please make a final check on the PAS fluid level and top up again if required.
