Hydraulic / Manual Steering Rack Core Acceptance Guidelines

Core Units

Core units are only accepted on a like for like basis and must be returned in a Shaftec box reducing the risks of damage during transit. This also aids identification and speeds up the Core Credit process.

All our core unit returns are visually inspected. If any of the Criteria listed is not met, then the unit will be rejected and scrapped.

Checks to be carried out
  1. Pipes – Damaged / Missing. £25 Reduction
  2. Tie Rods – Damaged / Missing. £20 Reduction
  3. Tie Rod Threads – Damaged. £20 Reduction
  4. Rack Body – Damaged / Broken. Full Rejection
  5. Pinion – Damaged. Full Rejection
  6. Mounting Brackets – Damaged. Full Rejection
  7. Inlet Ports – Damaged. Full Rejection
  8. Bracket Retaining Thread – Damaged. £20 Reduction
  9. Pinion Housing – Damaged. Full Rejection
  10. Rack Bars Rusty. Full Rejection
