Shaftec is proud to announce that we have won the Inspiring Communication & Engagement Award at this year’s Birmingham Workplace Champions Annual Event.
Held on 24th September at the Midlands Art Centre (MAC), the celebration brought together businesses from across the region to recognise organisations making a positive difference in their workplaces.
HR Manager, Louise Carr, reflected on the achievement, saying: “We had a fantastic afternoon representing Shaftec, and we are really excited to have been recognised for our contribution as workplace champions and won an award for Inspiring Communication & Engagement. Being part of the Workplace Champions group has been great for inspiring us with ideas and initiatives to support our colleagues and we would encourage other Birmingham businesses to get involved.”
The Workplace Champions programme celebrates businesses that go the extra mile to engage, support and inspire their people. This year’s event highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing, offering businesses the chance to connect and exchange ideas.
The event was organised by Optima, the programme’s training provider, with support from Birmingham City Council, and featured keynote speaker Kirsty Mac, who shared her insights on human connection and leadership. The day focused on building better, safer and more connected workplaces across the city centre. Attendees benefited from peer-led sessions, practical tools, and valuable networking opportunities designed to inspire stronger, more compassionate, and healthier workplace cultures in Birmingham.
Alongside Shaftec, other outstanding businesses were recognised for their efforts. We want to extend our congratulations to Green Square Accord for receiving the Trailblazer for Change Award, and Link Engineering for taking home the Inspirational Leaders Award.
Winning the Inspiring Communication & Engagement Award is a milestone for Shaftec. It reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering open communication, building strong relationships, and creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued and supported.
