As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, Shaftec is looking forward to taking on the 2025 Skinflint Rally – an epic 1,000+ mile road trip to Bovec, Slovenia – all in the name of charity.
Running from 19th to 21st September, this adventurous challenge forms part of our “30 for 30” fundraising campaign in support of Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry, which provides vital palliative and respite care for babies and children with life-limiting conditions.
Our two teams – Marc Wise, Chris White and Callum Dunbar in Team 1, and Mitesh Thanki, Aidan Vellender and Jim Harvey in Team 2 – will journey across France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria and Italy, before arriving in the picturesque town of Bovec.
During the Skinflint Rally, both teams will be driving cars bought for no more than £500 – a true test of skill, determination, and Shaftec’s automotive expertise. Team 1 will be taking on the journey in a Ford Focus, while Team 2 will hit the road in a VW Golf.
Both vehicles will be painted and branded in the lead-up to the rally by artist Orbit LDN – and we are inviting our partners to get involved. From sponsoring a logo on the car, to donating components, consumables, or merchandise for our raffles, your support will help us reach our ambitious target of raising £30,000 for Zoe’s Place this year!
